We're looking for a skilled Senior Software Engineer, Backend (Card) who is passionate about building transparent, flexible payment solutions and revolutionizing the credit industry.

🎯 Responsibilities

1. Own and deliver quarterly goals for the team, leading engineers through ambiguity to solve open-ended problems and supporting them throughout delivery.
2. Collaborate with product management, design, and analytics during ideation, articulation of technical constraints, and decision-making processes that consider risks and trade-offs.
3. Proactively identify and advocate for solutions to project, process, technology, or business issues.
4. Support the operations and availability of the team’s systems by creating and monitoring metrics, escalating when needed, and participating in on-call duties.
5. Promote a culture of quality and ownership by setting or enhancing code review and design standards, and advocating for them within and beyond the team.
6. Mentor and develop team members through feedback and guidance, leading by example.
7. Participate in an on-call rotation.

🛠️ Requirements

1. 4+ years of experience as a software engineer, including designing, developing, and launching backend systems at scale with technologies such as Python, Kotlin, AWS, MySQL, and Kubernetes.
2. Experience shipping front-end applications.
3. Proven ability to define technical plans for significant features or components with simple and extensible designs.
4. Able to write high-quality, easily understandable, and maintainable code.
5. Experience making significant changes in large codebases, with tools and practices to ensure safety and quality.
6. Demonstrated ownership of personal and team growth, proactive in seeking feedback from peers, managers, and stakeholders.
7. Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration with a global engineering team.

🎯 Responsibilities

1. Own and deliver quarterly team goals, leading engineers through ambiguity and open-ended challenges
2. Collaborate with infrastructure, product management, developer experience, and analytics teams throughout the product lifecycle
3. Identify and implement technical solutions and operational processes to improve incident readiness, response, and post-incident analysis
4. Maintain and monitor the operations and availability of team artifacts, escalate issues as needed, and support on-call efforts
5. Contribute to and improve code review and design standards, and advocate for quality and ownership across teams
6. Support the growth and development of team members by offering guidance, feedback, and leading by example
7. Participate in on-call rotation as required

🛠️ Requirements

1. 4+ years of experience designing, developing, and launching backend systems at scale using languages such as Bash, Python, or Kotlin
2. Proven experience building highly available distributed systems with technologies like AWS, MySQL, and Kubernetes
3. Experience contributing to or leading the Incident Lifecycle process, driving actionable insights for reliability and resilience
4. 4+ years working in a Site Reliability or Production Engineering team
5. Ability to define technical plans for significant feature or system component delivery using elegant, extensible designs
6. Experience making impactful changes in large codebases and implementing effective tools and practices
7. Demonstrated ownership of personal growth, proactively seeking feedback
8. Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration on a global engineering team
