Job Description

We're looking for a motivated Performance Engineer with a passion for performance testing and optimization to join a dynamic team focused on delivering high-performing frontend solutions in a banking environment.

Performance Testing & Optimization

  1. Regularly conduct performance, load, and stress tests on web applications to ensure compliance with defined SLAs.
  2. Analyze frontend performance using modern tools (e.g., Lighthouse, WebPageTest, Dynatrace) and browser developer tools.
  3. Identify performance bottlenecks across frontend, APIs, and infrastructure, and recommend improvements.

Collaboration & Quality Assurance

  1. Own and lead the Windtunnel as a recurring engagement program.
  2. Manage and prioritize the team's workload, incident support and ad hoc requests across teams.
  3. Work closely with developers, testers, architects, and business stakeholders to integrate performance testing into CI/CD pipelines.
  4. Document test strategies, scenarios, and results with clear reporting tailored to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  5. Drive adoption of a performance-first culture by coaching teams and embedding testing early in the development lifecycle.

Monitoring & Troubleshooting

  1. Monitor production environments using real-user monitoring (RUM) and synthetic testing solutions.
  2. Proactively identify risks and potential degradations in application performance.
  3. Lead the resolution of performance-related incidents across multiple system layers, coordinating cross-functional teams to drive timely fixes

YOUR PROFILE

To be successful in this role, you should have:

Solid understanding of frontend-oriented development, including

  1. Web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React/Angular).
  2. Performance optimization techniques (lazy loading, caching, CDN, minification).
  3. Backend/API dependencies and their impact on frontend performance.
  4. Cloud and containerized environments (Docker, Kubernetes).
  5. Synthetic monitoring and observability solutions (New Relic, AppDynamics, Elastic APM).

Nice-to-Have

  1. Experience in the banking sector or with secure, regulated environments.
  2. Knowledge of user experience design, accessibility, security, and compliance standards in frontend applications.

Communication & Stakeholder Management

  1. Excellent communication and reporting skills, with the ability to interact confidently with both technical and business teams.
