Lead Design System Engineer

Lead Design System Engineer

This is a lead role where you will have the opportunity to drive bsport's design system architecture, strategy, and vision, and have influence across the entire product, working closely with Design partner and Product teams.

Why this role is different?

Your initial focus will be Kaizen, our B2B design system powering our new back-office for studio managers, staff and teachers — a revamp is underway and you'll be leading the evolution of this Design system whilst all the company is building this new backoffice.

As you find your footing, the scope can expand to two additional systems: our white-label meta design system for B2C web, and our React Native mobile system. How these three systems relate, diverge, and potentially converge over time? That's yours to shape.

  1. Lead the evolution of Kaizen, our B2B design system — architecture, component quality, documentation and adoption.
  2. Drive accessibility improvements across the board — keyboard navigation, ARIA compliance, mobile interactions.
  3. Own governance and standards: reduce redundancy, enforce consistency, and make sure product teams are building with the system, not around it.
  4. Progressively extend your ownership to Fabrique (B2C web, white-label) and Okaia (React Native mobile).
  5. Define how our design systems become AI-ready — machine-readable structure, cursor rules, agent-friendly naming conventions.
  6. Bring vision on animation and micro-interactions to elevate the feel of our products.
  7. Collaborate closely with our Sr. Design System Product Designer, with no PM or EM in between — high autonomy, high impact.

You would be great fit if you have:

  1. You have 4+ years of front-end experience, with at least 1 year as the primary owner or lead contributor of a mature design system.
  2. You have a designer's eye — attention to detail, taste for quality, and the ability to push back on "good enough."
  3. You're a systems thinker: you see redundancy, inconsistency, and debt across a codebase and know how to create order without slowing teams down.
  4. You're fluent in React and TypeScript, and have solid knowledge of web components and advanced CSS (you know the difference between vh and dvh and why it matters).
  5. You follow the design systems space closely and have opinions: who's leading, what's overrated, what's next.
  6. You're excited about how LLMs and agents change the way we think about component architecture and developer tooling.
  7. You have a portfolio or GitHub that shows design system work — real components, potential decisions and real trade-offs.
  8. Bonus: experience with animation, transitions, and performance-optimized motion.
  9. Bonus: React Native experience, or appetite to learn.

Diversity is one of our most valuable assets, and we are committed to fostering an inclusive environment where everyone can contribute their best work. We welcome applicants from all backgrounds, identities, and experiences to help us build a more inclusive, equitable team.

If you’re excited about this role but don’t meet every qualification, we encourage you to apply-curiosity, adaptability, and a willingness to learn are just as important to us as specific skills.

Technical Program Manager

About the role:

As a Technical Program Manager (TPM) within the Ops Engineering team at bsport, you will be responsible for two main areas:

  1. Internal Products:

Oversee and drive the development of internal tools and platforms that address the needs of various departments — from Sales to Customer Success Management (CSM) — ensuring that our internal stakeholders have the best possible solutions to operate efficiently.

  1. Cross-Functional Projects:

Lead and coordinate a portfolio of transversal projects owned by the Ops Engineering team, in close collaboration with other Product Engineering teams. You will play a key role in bridging gaps between teams, aligning priorities, and ensuring smooth delivery across functions.

Your strong understanding of technology will help you identify inefficiencies across the organization and propose innovative, practical solutions to resolve them. You’ll also continuously seek opportunities to enhance team productivity and streamline processes.

You will be supported by a fully staffed engineering team of 6, including the Engineering Manager, who will partner with you to successfully deliver on these initiatives.

What will be your impact:

  1. Bridge internal GTM teams & engineering:
  2. Translate process friction into clear technical deliverables, ensuring alignment between business goals and engineering capacity.
  3. Transform risky process into successful internal product
  4. You will take advantage of extremely fast feedback loop from ideation to deployment
  5. Collaborate with top leadership of every department, understand their internal needs and be a strong driver for change in the company.
  6. Own project delivery: Lead planning, scoping, and execution of cross-functional initiatives across engineering, CSM, sales, marketing.
  7. Own functional KPIs of the projects you will work on, define success metrics, business impacts and follow-up on those in collaboration with non-engineering teams.
  8. Process & coordination: participate to sprints, roadmaps, retrospectives to keep projects on track in a fast-paced startup environment.
  9. Optimize internal operations via a dedicated software engineering team
  10. Risk management: Anticipate blockers, manage dependencies, and proactively propose solutions to keep delivery on time and within scope.
  11. Stakeholder communication: Provide transparent status updates, timelines, and reports to leadership and team members.
  12. Quality & scalability: Champion best practices in technical project management, ensuring projects scale efficiently as the company grows.

You would be great fit if you have:

  1. 2-4 years of experience as a Technical Program Manager, Program Manager, Product Manager, or similar role in a consultancy or software startup.
  2. Technical fluency - able to understand APIs, integrations, and development workflows (no need to code, but comfortable speaking the language of engineers).
  3. Affinity with UX, without it being your first area of work.
  4. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate technical details into clear business updates.
  5. Proven experience managing multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment.
  6. A proactive, solutions-oriented mindset: you see problems early and mobilize the right people to solve them.

Nice to Have

  1. Experience in vertical SaaS or B2B SMB products.
  2. Exposure to AI/ML or data-driven product development.
  3. Certifications (PMP, CSM, or similar) are a plus, but not required.

Diversity is one of our most valuable assets, and we are committed to fostering an inclusive environment where everyone can contribute their best work. We welcome applicants from all backgrounds, identities, and experiences to help us build a more inclusive, equitable team.

Freelance Senior Backend Engineer (7 meses)

Duración: 7 meses. €500 - €700 daily rate

About the role

You'll take ownership of the backend behind a set of new member-facing gamification and engagement features in our white-labeled, premium Branded (mobile) App, shipping capabilities to 500k+ MAUs and driving growth for our B2B clients. This is greenfield, high-ownership work: new services and data models built on top of a large, existing product dataset.

What this mission offers?

  1. A varied, high-ownership mission at the core of the product, with direct impact in the short and medium term.
  2. A modern stack and real architectural challenges, such as new data models, event-driven systems, privacy by design.
  3. A high-growth context with an engaged team and strong engineering standards.
  4. Integrate with background/event-driven processing and notifications.
  5. Ensure everything you build is scalable, reliable, and well-tested, end-to-end.

🎯 What will be your impact

  1. Design and build new backend services and data models that power upcoming features in our mobile app.
  2. Design new relational models from the ground up: weigh architecture options, align with our Core team, and document decisions (ADRs).
  3. Build and evolve the APIs / BFF endpoints consumed by the mobile app.
  4. Work with large volumes of existing product data to power new experiences, including backfills and migrations on high-volume tables.
  5. Treat privacy and data protection (GDPR) as a first-class concern, opt-in flows, and safe multi-tenant data handling.
  6. Integrate with background/event-driven processing and notifications.
  7. Ensure everything you build is scalable, reliable, and well-tested, end-to-end.

🌟You would be great fit if you have:

  1. Strong experience with Python (Django) and PostgreSQL at scale.
  2. Genuine data-modeling depth, comfortable designing new relational models and running migrations on large, high-volume tables.
  3. You thrive in ambiguity taking ownership of greenfield systems from day one. You explore the options, capture your reasoning in ADRs, and rally adjacent teams around a shared direction.
  4. Rigorous about code quality, able to move fast without cutting corners on maintainability.
  5. Strong communication skills in English.
  6. Background in a startup or scale-up, ideally B2B SaaS.

Nice to have

  1. Experience with consumer / member-facing products.
  2. Experience with security- and privacy-sensitive features (GDPR, multi-tenant data isolation); able to reason about where data can leak and design against it.
  3. Some React Native experience, to collaborate closely with our mobile engineers and occasionally contribute on the client side.

🌈🌍 Diversity is one of our most valuable assets, and we are committed to fostering an inclusive environment where everyone can contribute their best work. We welcome applicants from all backgrounds, identities, and experiences to help us build a more inclusive, equitable team.

If you’re excited about this role but don’t meet every qualification, we encourage you to apply-curiosity, adaptability, and a willingness to learn are just as important to us as specific skills.
