Uptail

We're looking for a Forward Deployed Engineer who lives at the intersection of customer empathy and technical depth. You'll ship code and sit across from midsized and enterprise customers.

What you'll own:

1. Lead technical onboarding and implementation for new customers end-to-end
2. Build integrations, custom tooling, and MVPs that unlock customer value fast
3. Design and tune AI/LLM workflows, prompts, flows, transcription, voice, to nail specific use cases
4. Investigate and resolve AI performance issues, working directly with production databases
5. Identify patterns across customers and feed them back into the product
6. Manage APIs and third-party integrations with precision

You're the right fit if:

1. You have strong full-stack fundamentals: TypeScript, Node.js, Svelte
2. You've shipped AI/LLM-powered products and understand what makes them work (and fail)
3. You use AI coding tools (Cursor, Claude, etc.) as a core part of how you build — not as an afterthought
4. You can walk into a room with a non-technical stakeholder and earn their trust quickly
5. You're comfortable working with data — SQL, querying databases, debugging data issues in production
6. You thrive in ambiguity and don't wait for a spec to start moving
