We're looking for a hands-on Senior Backend Engineer to lead backend development across multiple products, shape the technology strategy, and build a unified engineering function. This product-oriented role combines people management, architecture, technical decision-making, and direct collaboration with product stakeholders and the CEO.

🎯 Responsibilities

• Lead backend development across multiple products and own the engineering roadmap for new features.
• Decide on and evolve the technology stack, owning key architectural and technical trade-offs.
• Manage the existing backend engineer while remaining hands-on in development and technical delivery.
• Lead the development of new technical solutions for products on the roadmap, as well as improvements to existing products.
• Bring AI and automation into the products, identifying opportunities to automate client workflows and accelerate delivery.
• Establish engineering frameworks, standards, processes, and ways of working across the product portfolio.
• Work closely with product stakeholders and the CEO to understand business and client needs, then translate them into a technical roadmap and new features.
• Make informed decisions about when to rebuild, improve, or patch existing systems.
• Help develop a unified engineering function as the team grows.

🛠️ Requirements

• At least 5 years of hands-on backend engineering experience, ideally across multiple products.
• At least 1 year of experience managing or leading engineers.
• Experience making and owning technology stack decisions.
• Experience building engineering processes and team structures from the ground up.
• Genuine interest in applying AI and automation directly to product development.
• Professional fluency in both English and Spanish.
• Experience working with some or all of the current stack: Kotlin, Python, React, LangGraph, AWS, and Snowflake.
• Willingness to remain hands-on while managing people and leading technical direction.
