Software Engineer II - Backend

We're looking for a passionate Software Engineer II – Backend to join the Distributed Tracing Pipeline team and help build, improve, and maintain a large-scale distributed service architecture.

🎯 Responsibilities

  1. Build, maintain, and scale backend services and support tools
  2. Participate in architectural planning with a focus on innovation and creativity
  3. Collaborate with product and experience teams to understand specifications and influence the distributed tracing product roadmap
  4. Create automation and tooling to improve scalability and deployment
  5. Work in an agile, DevOps-focused environment where teams own their software end to end, including on-call rotations
  6. Leverage AI tools to accelerate development, from coding and reviews to investigating production issues
  7. Foster a culture of technical excellence and shared knowledge

🛠️ Requirements

  1. Experience with distributed systems, concurrency, and scaling in production environments
  2. Strong software development skills in OOP languages such as Kotlin, Java, Go, or similar, and ability to adapt to new languages and frameworks
  3. Familiarity with asynchronous programming techniques (streams, event-based flows, task queues, message queues)
  4. Comfort working in a fast-paced environment delivering production code with Agile methodologies and tools
  5. Collaborative mindset and commitment to shared code ownership
  6. Adaptability and curiosity about using AI to enhance development workflows
  7. Proficiency in English

  1. Open source contributions
  2. Experience with build and test automation, and interest in increasing team efficiency and reliability through these practices
  3. Knowledge of OpenTelemetry or related observability technologies

Software Engineer II

We're looking for a passionate Software Engineer II to join a team focused on building and maintaining core backend systems for a leading observability platform.

🎯 Responsibilities

  1. Build, maintain, and scale backend services across the APM data pipeline—including agent connection, registration, metric ingestion, processing, and storage
  2. Participate in architectural planning with a high degree of innovation and creativity
  3. Collaborate closely with product and experience teams to understand specifications and contribute to the product roadmap
  4. Create automation and tooling to improve scalability and deployment processes
  5. Work in an agile environment using a DevOps approach, including participating in on-call rotations
  6. Leverage AI tools to accelerate development workflows, including code writing, review, and troubleshooting production issues, and help the team adopt these tools
  7. Foster a culture of technical excellence and shared knowledge

🛠️ Requirements

  1. Experience with distributed systems, concurrency, and scaling in production environments
  2. Strong experience coding in OOP languages (such as Kotlin, Java, Go), and adaptability to different languages and frameworks
  3. Familiarity with asynchronous programming techniques: streams, event-based flows, task queues, message queues
  4. Comfort working in a fast-paced, agile environment releasing production code regularly
