We're looking for a skilled Lead Design System Engineer to drive design system architecture, strategy, and vision, partnering closely with Design and Product teams to impact the entire product experience.
🎯 Responsibilities
- Lead the evolution of the Kaizen B2B design system, overseeing architecture, component quality, documentation, and adoption.
- Drive accessibility improvements, including keyboard navigation, ARIA compliance, and mobile interactions.
- Own governance and standards to minimize redundancy, ensure consistency, and enable product teams to build with the system.
- Progressively extend ownership to B2C web (white-label meta design system) and React Native mobile systems.
- Define strategies to make design systems AI-ready, including machine-readable structures and agent-friendly naming conventions.
- Bring vision on animation and micro-interactions to enhance product experience.
- Collaborate directly with the Senior Design System Product Designer for high-autonomy, high-impact work.
🛠️ Requirements
- 4+ years of front-end experience, including at least 1 year as the lead or primary owner of a mature design system.
- Strong design sense with attention to detail and high standards for quality.
- Systems thinker able to spot redundancy, inconsistency, and technical debt, and create order without slowing teams down.
- Fluency in React and TypeScript, with knowledge of web components and advanced CSS (including dvh/vh distinctions).
- Up-to-date knowledge and strong opinions about the design systems landscape.
- Interest in how LLMs and agents will influence component architecture and developer tooling.
- Portfolio or GitHub showcasing real design system work, practical decisions, and trade-offs.

- Experience with animation, transitions, and performance-optimized motion.
- React Native experience or enthusiasm to learn.
