Descripción

We’re looking for a hands-on and strategic Data Engineering Lead to drive our data engineering efforts, take organizational ownership of the area, and guide a growing team of engineers. You’ll be responsible for designing scalable, cloud-native architectures, optimizing data pipelines, and implementing a modern self-service data platform across the company.

In this role, you will bridge the gap between complex technical execution and business strategy, maintaining direct ownership over the platform's long-term evolution.

What challenges you'll be solving 🚀

  1. People Management & Growth: Lead, mentor, and directly manage the data engineering team, taking responsibility for their career development, hiring, and setting operational standards.
  2. Modern Architecture Design: Design and implement scalable, reliable, and secure data pipelines and data lake/lakehouse architectures within a cloud-native product ecosystem.
  3. Self-Service Data Platform: Drive the transformation of our data infrastructure toward a self-service model, ensuring high data reliability, governance, versioning, and quality control.
  4. Cross-functional Collaboration: Partner with data analysts, data scientists, and business stakeholders to translate complex real-world data problems into robust, production-grade products.
  5. Performance Optimization: Own and optimize end-to-end ETL/ELT workflows, minimizing downtime and ensuring the infrastructure scales pragmatically with the company's growth.

What you’ll need 🤝 (Must-have)

  1. Proven People Management Experience: Strong track record of directly managing teams of Data Engineers (including 1-on-1s, performance reviews, and team scaling), specifically within Product-driven or Scale-up environments. Profiles coming exclusively from traditional IT Consulting or enterprise-corporate governance will not be considered.
  2. Hands-on Technical Background: Deep, recent technical depth in cloud-native data platform engineering, with the ability to participate in technical decisions, code reviews, and pipeline optimization.
  3. Mandatory AWS Cloud Stack: Strong background designing and implementing modern data platforms in cloud environments natively with AWS.
  4. Modern Data Stack Expertise: Solid, production-grade experience with Kafka, Airflow, dbt, and cloud data warehouses (ideally Redshift, though Snowflake or BigQuery is also valuable).
  5. Core Languages: Advanced knowledge of Python and SQL.
  6. DevOps & Data Governance: Familiarity with DevOps culture, CI/CD practices, Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform), and deep understanding of data lineage and quality controls.
  7. Language: Fluent in English (cross-functional communication with international stakeholders).

Nice to have ➕

  1. Experience working closely with Data Analytics or BI teams, with the ability to guide analytics engineering efforts and design clean dimensional layers.
  2. Experience with real-time data streaming architectures and messy, financial/transactional datasets.
