We're looking for a Software Engineer to join the Galileo Satellite Constellation Control Facility (SCCF) team and contribute to all phases of critical software development for the Galileo ground control center.

🎯 Responsibilities

  1. Develop and maintain high-quality applications using C++ and Java, particularly with the Eclipse RCP framework.
  2. Contribute to the full software development lifecycle: requirements, design, implementation, testing, deployment, and customer support.
  3. Implement software enhancements related to cybersecurity.
  4. Support current software maintenance processes.
  5. Create and maintain engineering documentation, including design documents, interface definitions, plans, requirements, and technical notes.
  6. Facilitate integration with other Galileo teams and system elements.
  7. Collaborate directly with clients and end users, including attending technical reviews, workshops, and supervising test milestones.
  8. Participate in code reviews, pair programming, and knowledge-sharing sessions to promote continuous improvement and team upskilling.

🛠️ Requirements

  1. Degree in Software Engineering or related field.
  2. At least 1 year of experience developing applications with Java or C++.
  3. Experience with build tools such as Maven for managing dependencies, builds, and deployments.
  4. Experience with Docker and Kubernetes for application deployment and scalability.
  5. Strong understanding of software testing practices, including unit testing, integration testing, and TDD.

➕ Nice to have

  1. Experience with additional programming languages such as Python.
  2. Familiarity with Agile methodologies such as Scrum or Kanban.
  3. Experience with Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) tools and practices.
  4. Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills for complex software systems.
  5. Experience supporting team development through knowledge-sharing and mentoring.
