We're looking for a hands-on and proactive Senior QA Engineer – Devices to drive the quality of POS devices, covering firmware, Android POS apps, and device releases. This high-ownership role focuses on defining quality strategies, building automation, enhancing processes, and ensuring fast, reliable releases.
🎯 Responsibilities
- Define and lead quality strategy for devices, including test approach, coverage goals, release criteria, and go/no-go gates
- Build and maintain automated test suites for the device stack (software, update packages, user flows), focusing on integration and regression
- Improve CI/CD and release tooling (pipelines, test execution/reporting, reproducible releases, and streamlined validation)
- Collaborate with engineering teams to enhance testability, instrumentation, diagnostics, and internal toolsets
- Set acceptance criteria and validate hardware/OS updates and device readiness throughout the lifecycle (EVT/DVT/PVT/MP)
- Incorporate production learnings into quality processes: participate in incident reviews, perform targeted exploratory/manual tests, automate recurring checks
🛠️ Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Telecommunications Engineering, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, or related field (or equivalent practical experience)
- Proven experience as a Senior QA or Test Engineer for devices, embedded systems, or hardware-related products
- Demonstrated ability to develop test strategies and automation in fast-paced environments, with process and release improvements
- Comfortable writing code for tests and tooling (C and/or Python), and working with developers to strengthen and expand test infrastructure
- Strong debugging skills across firmware, app, and device boundaries, with clear communication of failures and solutions
- Fluent in English and Spanish, with excellent communication and organizational abilities
- Execution-focused, accountable, and driven to own outcomes from start to finish

➕ Nice to have
- Experience testing Android-based devices (AOSP/embedded Linux knowledge is a plus) and familiarity with release constraints of embedded products
- Understanding of hardware validation workflows and lab tools (instrumentation, fixtures/jigs, EVT/DVT/PVT management, vendor acceptance criteria)
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD systems and advanced test setups (hardware-in-the-loop, on-target automation, reliability/soak testing)
