We're looking for an experienced Data Engineer to join the Data Experience Team within Platform Engineering. This role focuses on architecting and operating scalable, secure, and compliant infrastructure solutions that power core database and data storage capabilities.

🎯 Responsibilities

1. Build and maintain platform solutions to enhance reliability, security, and scalability of database platform infrastructure.
2. Apply best practices in cloud infrastructure, networking, and CI/CD to support operational data storage solutions.
3. Collaborate with product and analytics teams to enable seamless orchestration, access, and metadata management.
4. Participate in technical discussions, documentation, and knowledge sharing to foster continuous learning.
5. Contribute high-quality code and infrastructure improvements aligned with the team’s roadmap.
6. Participate in on-call rotations for incident response and troubleshooting to ensure platform stability.
7. Maintain and enhance observability solutions (metrics, logging, tracing) to meet service level objectives and availability targets.

🛠️ Requirements

1. Hands-on experience maintaining cloud-based infrastructure, especially AWS.
2. Practical experience with container technologies (Docker) and orchestration tools (Kubernetes/EKS).
3. Proficient with infrastructure as code (Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar).
4. Competence in at least one programming language (Python preferred).
5. Experience with CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions, ArgoCD, Jenkins).
6. Skilled in modern data transformation tools, especially dbt (Data Build Tool).
7. Expertise in workflow orchestration using Apache Airflow.
8. Familiar with networking and security best practices in cloud environments.
9. Experience with observability tools (DataDog, Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry).

➕ Nice to have

1. Knowledge of database internals, including performance tuning, high-availability architecture (replication/failover), and sharding/clustering.
2. Experience as a Backend Engineer.
3. Familiarity with metadata platforms (OpenMetadata).
